Mrs. D'Amore's Preschool

Hello and Welcome to Preschool at Shaler Academy. My name is Gina D'Amore and I have been a preschool teacher in Ridgefield for 30 years! It has been a wonderful experience working in this community as I have made my Preschool classroom into my home away from home. I earned my teaching degree from Montclair State University with my BA in Elementary Education. I also completed my Master's Degree in Early Childhood Education from the City College of New York, currently known as SUNY.  I have also completed the Teacher of Students with Disabilities Certification graduate program from Felician College.  This past school year I was honored to receive the "Teacher of the Year" award through the Governor's Educator of the Year Program for 2024-2025.  My classroom is the "Welcome Wagon" at Shaler Academy where I love being the first step into your child's educational career. I want ALL of my students to develop a love of learning and coming to school. While I encourage and foster independence, I also provide the care and support young children need when they come to school for the first time. At home, I am also a busy Mom to my two teenagers, Leah & Marco and my rescue pup, Lucy.
