Meet Ms. McGlynn
Ms. Jeanine McGlynn
Welcome to Shaler Academy! I am proud to serve as the Principal of Shaler Academy and look forward to collaborating with each of you over the course of the school year. As I begin my 9th year in the District, I look forward to working with our dedicated staff to provide the best possible educational program for our students. We remain committed to ensuring that Shaler Academy provides a learning environment with rich experiences that enhance the intellectual, social, emotional, and physical development of each and every child. We will work diligently to ensure that the children enjoy many academic successes while also instilling in them a sense of motivation and purpose at our school and in the community.
With a focus on social emotional learning, high standards for learning and teaching, small group instruction, and community engagement, it is our goal at Shaler Academy that all students succeed. Students develop their reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills through a balanced literacy model, develop their mathematical minds through a differentiated Envisions Math program, and discover the world around them through the Knowing Science program and our social studies curriculum.
The 2024-2025 school year promises to be an exciting one for our students and staff as we continue to provide a safe, intellectual learning environment that will inspire students to become creative problem solvers and critical thinkers.
Within each classroom, students have immediate access to SMART Boards, Promethean Boards, Chromebooks, iPads, and document cameras. Our teachers use this technology as a tool to acquire critical thinking skills, as well as forming more universal connections with others to reach beyond our classrooms to enhance learning.
Using resources such as Rethink, Let’s Go Learn, Teaching Strategies, Gold, Raz-Kids, Scholastic Magazines for Kids, Mystery Science and Smarty Ants our teachers are able to supplement and individualize their instruction to meet the needs of all of our students.
Formative and summative assessments are used to help drive the instruction. Teachers use formative assessments to guide student learning daily, while summative assessments such as benchmarks and end of unit tests are used to help evaluate learning and instructional programs.
On behalf of the Shaler Academy faculty and staff, I invite you to join us in making this the very best experience for our children.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns.
