MELISSA COLON » Mrs. Colón

Mrs. Colón

Welcome! My name is Mrs. Colón, and I am excited to be starting my 23rd year in education. Over the years, I have had the privilege of working with students, families, and colleagues who continually inspire me and remind me why I chose this career path. Teaching is not just my profession, it is truly my passion.

Throughout my career, I have dedicated myself to creating a classroom environment where students feel safe, valued, and motivated to learn. I believe that education goes beyond the lessons, it is about fostering curiosity, building confidence, and encouraging each child to reach their fullest potential.

Over these 23 years, I have learned that teaching is as much about listening and guiding as it is about instructing. Every student has a unique story, and I find great joy in discovering how each one learns best and in helping them achieve their goals.

As I look forward to this school year, I am excited to continue growing alongside my students. I believe that teaching is a journey, and every new year brings opportunities for growth, connection, and inspiration. I am grateful for the opportunity to partner with families and to play a part in shaping the future through education.

  • We have one amazing daughter who keeps us on our toes and makes life so much fun. I am a very proud competitive cheer mom!

  • Our home is also filled with the pitter-patter of paws. I’m a proud cat mom to two sweet (and sometimes mischievous) cats.

  • I love traveling and exploring new places, whether it’s a big adventure or a quick weekend getaway.

  • When I’m not teaching, you can often find me crafting, creating DIY projects, or working in my garden.
